Raw flower field honey of natural origin
Flower or field honey is the earliest honey available during the honey season. The bees produce this honey by collecting various nectars from the field in the mountains, consisting mainly of a wide variation of flowers but some plants or vegetables as well.
As there is no addition of sugar or any other substance to the honey that is being offered on Unifier.ONE you can be sure of buying pure and natural products or organic origin that have been prepared with a lot of care and respect. This is the concept that we believe in and we want to support the artisanal traditions and bring something good to the health of the people by offering it to the world through this shop we try to achieve these objectives.
Next to the fact that this product has been produced in a fully artisanal way and knows no additions, also the bees and the environment have been treated with the highest respect that they deserve. This product does not come from anywhere and finds its origin in the rural mountain areas of Croatia with little population and far away from the pollution of the industries as possible.
Import note to make is that the bees survive the winter on honey and pollen only and that they are fed with sugar water. Bees surviving on sugar water are weaker and smaller and more vulnerable to diseases what opens a door to the use of antibiotics. This is obviously not our way of doing the things and the bees need first to be healthy themselves before they can offer us something that will help us with our health.
Due to its nature of origin, flower honey is among the sweetest honey and will, therefore, have the highest tendency to crystallize, which is characteristic for every natural honey. Even though this honey might crystallize faster than the others, such as Chestnut honey or Acacia honey, for example, it will still become liquid at body temperature when putting in the mouth.
Because of its high tendency to crystallize, this honey offers a good solution for the ones that like to eat honey on their bread, use it in their tea or dishes. The crystallization process can be also always reverted by putting the jar of honey in warm water that is around the body temperature and leave it there for some 10 to 15 minutes. This will make the honey liquid again but the tendency to crystallize will remain and with time, the honey will go into crystallized state little by little again.
It is also advisable to store the honey in a dark and dry place and keeping it as hermetically closed as possible. The honey remains alive and will attract the humidity from the surrounding air which could decrease its quality when not stored properly. Another important note to make, the honey should not be consumed with a metal spoon, as this will make the honey lose some of its properties due to oxidation. The use of a plastic or preferable wooden spoon is advised.
The flower honey offered at this moment is from the 2020 harvest as long as the stock lasts and we already look forward to receiving this year’s new harvest in the next months.
A final note that we want to make is that due to the artisanal process that is used to obtain the honey all the jars are different from each other. The bees from every hive visit different flowers and there are small differences in taste or the speeds each pot might be crystallizing. This is something that can be expected and fits in our view of offering artisanal and natural products.
